Trail behind Wentworth

After getting to the Wentworth hostel we tried to get to the www.wildblueberryfest.com happenings in the area. The website was down so we instead hiked around on the trails behind Wentworth youth hostel in Nova Scotia. Below are some blackberries that we picked along with some wild blueberries.

The guy below is a spider that was pretty big; right next to the blackberries interesting when you are looking for blackberries and find him instead!

The Flats at Mont Joli Quebec

These are the flats as seen from Rt132 in Quebec, looking across the St. Lawrence.

The slate below is amazing and is almost painful to walk on even with boots, because of the cracking sounds coming from the slate.

Night Sky - New Brunswick

This was a breathtaking view forward/left of the car at dusk.

This was to the 'left/back' of the car driving north to Pont du Gaurd, Quebec.

Canadian Fishermen

On the Riviere Matapedia, running along side Rte 132 in Quebec, Canada we saw several fisherman. One caught a fish about 40-50 cm long!

Hopewell Rocks

Ok so Hopewell Rocks, really the only stop made in New Brunswick. These formations were made with the extreme tides in the Bay of Fundy, with tidal changes of 10.7m. Very wonderful spot, a little windy and cool.

Davis Flats, not very exciting but pretty big flats that flood and dry with the tides.

This is the 'second stop' at Hopewell name forgotten, post may be reposed.

The 'famous' flowerpot section of hopewell rocks.

Anohter shot of the flowerpots, down on the beach. Sadly I didnt get as good of a shot as I wish to have. But considering the backlight, this is what i could do for now. Maybe another one later.

Rail Mirror / Canal?

This is actually the view from the rail on a CN railway. The mirror like surface created thousands of tons of steel wheels pounding out the cast iron. Also it looks somewhat like a canal. This is at Wentworth, NS.

The End of the Paved Road

The end of the paved road. Sounds ominus, in Canada, you might actually find something else, peace and quiet. Out of all the dirt roads cracked/buckled paved road my car lost only one thing, a tow hook cover. Out of all that could have gone wrong I feel lucky to have gone through it with just that 'damage'.

Parker Farm

We went out to Steve Parker's farm in Lunenburg, MA, to do some weeding. The fields seemed to go on forever. It is amazing that almost all the work is done by one man.
