Sunshine

So I am not the biggest fan of sunshine, but I do see the value, and so far in my trip to Germany I haven't seen sunshine. Now I have.

Ulezener Advents Calendar

So Ueltzen has this interesting thing which is an Advent calendar with art. So as the days go by, each window is uncovered, and new fresh art is shown. Quite the thing nightly. Make sure you have some gluwien too.

And to highlight the day is a spotlight from the other side of the street.

VW

Ok so I haven't visited any other car companies but that in winter their bicycle parking is full is awsome.

Berlin

I went to Berlin to meet up with family, and ended up finding out quite a bit about Berlin. I had been there before, but without a guide there is only so much you see. The S bahn was right outside my hotel in the Tiergarten which is also in the background.

Power

Yes another trip to Germany, how could I not include these majestic fellows. On the way to Berlin, I saw these wind turbines standing there. What you don't see is that they are not moving, even though there is wind. I wonder why that is.

Prague

So in my whirlwind tour of Checkoslovakia, I stopped by Prague. Pretty nice city I think, it could be better with me understanding the language more than nothing. But, I came for the sights and got them.

Welcome to Eastern Europe

Ah yes, of course, Amerika street.

Fog and Roads

Fortunately this was not the whole trip. This is just over the border though, and my spirits were still high.

St Lorenz Kirche

Ahh Nurenburg. Anyway this time of year there are many of these Wiennacht Markets in Germany. They are wonderful places with food and gifts and stuff to buy.

Snow and Germany

A little bit of a shock after coming from Hong Kong, is the cold and the snow in Germany. More shocking to the body was having to walk around in a t-shirt in 1*C weather in London and Frankfurt, as the planes did not have the enclosed gangways. Brrr!

But seeing the snow made me smile, fortunately no snow from the sky though which helps with driving.

Careful!

Hong Kong is an interesting city, but the traffic is even more fun. They do respect the crosswalk though, as long as they have a red. If they don't, careful!

Architecture

I like architecture, don't get me wrong. But this is what can happen if the designers are at the wheel.

The Hong Kong light show

Hong Kong has a light show every day at 20:00. This picture captures only a fraction of what it looks like. The buildings come alive and if you are standing at the Kowloon Public Pier, you get the music that goes with the lights.

Learn English!

No, I am not advocating to learn English. I think that this sign is trying to advertise learning English (maybe by 90%!) the awsome part is the detail on her tounge. Go Photoshop!

Hong Kong Traffic

Traffic is the same anywhere you go, but in Hong Kong it takes on more of an ordered chaos.

Flying - Heathrow - Stupidity Tax

Ok so like snow, I love taking pictures in the air. There is a very small percentage of time that one is up in the air, and it should be taken advantage of.

I was a expecting the worst with the new Terminal 5 of Heathrow. After hearing horror stories of lost bags I had visions of the same happening to me. This did not happen but their Terminal is very nice. The structural steel is beautiful, and they hired some smart people to put these orbs of colour just past the security counter. I'm not one to decorate but they seem to counter the stress of the security procedure.

So in my haste to leave the house at 05:40, I took my laptop but not the power supply. I ended up getting another power supply in Terminal 5 where they have a mini Apple Store, set off from another store. So after forking over 60GBP I now have a power adapter, and I have paid the stupid tax. Yay.
