Lamma Island - The yellow house

The color of this house made it really stick out from the forest that was practically overgrowing it. The houses on this island, tended to be white with occasional splotches of color, so this yellow house was fairly unusual.

Some of my coworkers and I had a day-trip to Lamma Island, a nearby outlying island known for it's ex-pat population and picturesque scenery. It has steep hiking, beautiful beaches, and a giant power plant. This image was taken near the ferry and market place on the backside of the island.

Snow-covered Pots

On our porch are a number of pots left from our container gardening last year. With the snowfall from friday and subsequent thaws and refreezes they have been transformed into in interesting "mountainous" landscape.
In the picture below you can really see the icy re-frozen surface.

Snowy Front Steps

One of the biggest snow storms of the season, as seen from inside the car. It lasted all of Friday into today. I ended up shoveling for about 1 hour.

Snowy Parking Lot View

This week we had temperatures up the to the 60s*F, but today we were hit with another big snow storm. At some points the snow was coming down so thickly that it could be measured at nearly an inch and hour. The weatherman seems to think it will be the last of the season, but who knows. We have had surprise blizzards in April before...
