Picturesque Harz Mountains

What a drive! Anyway, driving along (again) I noticed this sight and decided it needed to be captured. What is not present in the photo is all of the mountains around here and how difficult it is to drive them. That's a workout!

Yellow Pines?

Driving along from Zurich to Dusseldorf I noticed these trees along the '94' motorway in Germany. I have no explanation for these trees, and I can only guess that they are sick or dying, as evergreens should not go yellow. Right??

Footbridge over railway in Gdynia, Poland

During the worker strike in Poland soldiers were sent in to protect the shipyard from damage by the workers. A diffrent leader told the workers to go back to work. Due to a miscommunication, soldiers did not know that workers were supposed to go to work, and as they were getting off of the train trying to go back to work they were fired upon by the soldiers.

This footbridge over the commuter rail tracks was where they were fired upon.

MIsc Pictures from Switzerland

Below is an interesting vehicle for 2 people, gas or pedal powered.

And below is a view of the scenery that one can see along the road. I saw better but it was the autobahn and I was lost and frustrated.

Wicked old elevators

Ok so some people get on older elevators but this is one of the oldest elevators I have been on (that works!) Small, cramped and rickety, it was better than going up the 5 floors on the stairs.

If you cant see it, max capacity is 375kgs, and it was built in 1956.

I woke a little early in the hostel that I was staying at and was getting ready for the day when I was idilly thinking and looking outisde. Deja vu... I had a similar sight to this the first day I was in Frankfurt in April of this year. How I have come full circle.
